A video: leash-tightening

Here is a video by kikopup (she’s awesome) on how to train your dog to LOOK AT YOU when you tighten the leash. This technique is useful for dog owners who get tense or have anxiety and tighten the leash when they see a dog approaching.

This lesson is also in the Click To Calm book that I am reading (see prev. blog post). It’s great to see it in action!

Lili,That was a great video post.I will watch it again.I have these problems with Baxter, however in his defense we have had problems with other dogs/owners on walks. Most recently a dog off leash charging at us.I picked Baxter up.But anyway, the video helps both of us, more or less dog walking coping skills. Thank you for sharing.

You are welcome, Jinny! I am going to try this leash-walking lesson too. Let me know how it goes for you and Baxter. (Boogie has also been charged at/attacked by other dogs)
